When notes mode is on, pressing 1-9 adds or removes that number as a candidate note instead of placing it as a final answer.
Undo

Tips
- Learn the essentials first: Arrow keys, 1-9, N for notes, Ctrl/Cmd+Z for undo

On touch devices, the on-screen controls replace keyboard shortcuts:
